"We took some time to pre-review hotels for our first visit (7 nights) in Murcia. Being inland we wanted to mix culture and food with some relaxation and a pool. And Hotel Nelva ticked every box. Firstly, we had a lovely welcome. I always try my Spanish and got a very friendly reply from check in staff in English throughout. As they did throughout the stay. A 7 night stay you will usually get an example of a 3/4 star experience, but this hotel was really fantastic. The staff were all great. Our room was excellent, so clean and with a first floor balcony, bath and separate shower (very good). As I reflect, the Nelva was a great stay on all counts. BUT. Murcia city is an outstanding place to visit that most Brits flying into Alicante miss in their travel north. From Cardiff we could only visit Murcia and Cartagena via Alicante. This is a fabulous city culturally, historically, weather and culinary and Nelva Hotel is a wonderful base to get your steps in and experience all of this and more. If that makes sense. Go to Murcia. Stay at Hotel Nelva. (And no I didn’t get a discount for writing this!)"
