A quietly brilliant stay. The welcome was warm without the fuss, the beds were the sink-into-oblivion kind, and the shower actually understood the assignment. Breakfast — light, thoughtful, and included in the room rate — felt like a small act of generosity rather than an upsell. I even left with a pot of local bee pollen from the lounge, because restraint is overrated. Parking was easy, the internet behaved itself, and there’s a supermarket a couple of minutes away for any last-minute cravings. Calm, considered, and doing exactly what it should — beautifully. "
"Food was amazing, cleanliness very good and comfort was also good my only complaint would be service, Fawlty towers springs to mind for those of you that remember it, service was painfully slow. It's quite a secluded place and great if you just want to relax we found it to be more akin to an old folks home tbh but it didn't bother us as we weren't there during the day, the pool would have been good if it was clean though. "Friendly exceptionally clean hotel with wonderful menu for dinner. Good wine list at friendly prices.
The bed was a medical grade mattress which was a bit too firm for us.
All in all a wonderful place to stay not far from Portugal Spanish border.
Listing did not say that whilst it was off a listed road it was not now the main road so was quiet.Hotel refurbished a year or so ago and is popular with locals always a good sign

"A simple and basic stopover but worked
Ok for us. We were able to park motorbike around the side of the hotel and it felt safe. We walked into town and found a nice friendly restaurant with lovely local food, excellent value. It was a served breakfast, simple but very nice, in particular wonderful warm bread."
