We had a room with a balcony and it was definitely worth the extra for a nice seating area.

It’s a family run business and the staff is lovely. The room was clean with a well equipped kitchenette. 1 min walk to beach and 10 mins walk to restaurants. Lovely

We initially felt unsafe here . This was probably not a fair assessment- it was based on how we felt that day . We did leave the hotel to stay somewhere else as I was feeling anxious. Mossel Bay is interesting in South Africa because it seems to have a good racial mix. At restaurants you have white people serving and black people eating. It is like London. The Bartholemu Dias museum is very good. Bit of history.
The beach was lovely however, we only spent a single night so couldn't explore as much as we'd have liked to
