"I had booked a room at Mvuvi 5 months ago and was told when I arrived that they had overbooked. I was thrown into a random house in Watamu, dogs running through the room, the person in the next room being violently sick all night. The house wasn’t even on the map so I got very lost late at night trying to find it. Mvuvi must have known about the overbooking months ago, but only told me on my arrival. "It is ideally situated. Easy access to the beach. The main issue with that is that there is a club/bar that runs till late into the night and make it impossible to have a good night sleep. "

"The facilities are amazing - the pools are immaculate and gorgeous scenery in general. Staff are great. The only downside was the very limited menu (and quite high prices for the portion/quality) at Lion in the Sun. On top of that, all vegetarian options were not available one day, with no alternative offered - which was a little disappointing, especially as nearby places (Art and Nature - highly recommend!) were able to modify dishes and cater for dietary requirements on request."
