Room is modern and very clean. Price for quality of room is excellent. Very comfortable king size bed. Pillows were kind of flat and not very supportive, but I always bring my own pillow when I travel.

The Elmwood hotel rooms have been refurbished and are beautiful. The hotel was in the path of travelers going north to see the eclipse so the staff was possibly overwhelmed. The person at checkin had a difficult time finding our reservation booked through Expedia and I was glad I printed out the reservation info. They did their best though. The main reason for writing this is that we arrived late afternoon and the temperature in the room was set to about 64 which was cold to me. The heating unit was a minisplit on the wall. But the controls for the minisplit are on the top of the unit where my 5’7” husband had to stand on the swivel desk chair to reach to turn the heat up. Poor design! Be aware that their current hours according to a sign on the office are 7 am - 7 pm.

The owners have done a wonderful job turning a rundown motel into a clean modern facility. Everyone was very friendly and attentive. We weren't expecting breakfast so that was a nice surprise and the breakfast area was nice and comfortable. Our room was clean with nice furnishings, a fridge and microwave. No coffee maker but coffee was available all day in the lobby. Although the motel is just off the highway, it was surprisingly quiet at night. It's a short drive to downtown Waterville and Colby College, lots of shopping and restaurant options are nearby. We would definitely stay again.

We enjoyed our stay. Room was a little small. But bathroom was super renovated!! No hand soap in bathroom. But all and all, I’d stay again!

The room was simple and clean. The shower was pitiful. Water pressure was nonexistent and the little bit of water was like warm at best.

The first room that I occupied didn't have heat The second didn't have water pressure. The staff was very accommodating but the rooms were definitely not as expected.

The stay
It was cheap. The privacy isn't very good. The curtains wouldn't close 100%. The room wouldn't heat unless I did something fancy with the curtains. It took awhile for the room to warm up. It was a very basic room. The bathroom seemed clean.

Being on a budget I wasn’t expecting much… I knew the building was under new ownership and work had been done. I walked into the lobby… very welcoming but ok. What about the rooms. I have had 2 rooms and both outstanding. Very neat and clean.. up to date everything. Is absolutely recommend to anyone
