"I feel bad leaving this review but want people to know what they’re walking into. The facility looks to have gotten a very superficial face lift. “Lipstick on a pig” if you will. Unfortunately the rooms smelled of smoke and mildew. It was not a great part of town from what I could tell. It is a motel that people appear to be living in. We ended up rebooking elsewhere. The management was very understanding and did provide us with refunds which was appreciated."

"Enjoyed the stay. Staff was accommodating to our late check-in. We had put out arrival was to be at 130am we ran into traffic, we didn’t arrive till 3am. The gentleman checking us in was so nice and friendly. The checkout staff in the morning were very nice as well. I will stay here again!!!!"

"Only issue I had was the coffee maker in my room did not work (I honestly didn't think to report it, I was there to attend a funeral and my mind was all over the place). I went to the breakfast area in search of coffee to find there was no coffee there either. I went to a fast food place nearby to get my morning coffee."

"The property was clean and the staff was friendly and helpful, but I asked for a Mountain View room and was given a wheelchair accessible room, and there was so much noise above me that it felt like they were doing construction or there was a gym upstairs. This was a little upsetting because I had a long bike ride in the morning and that was the reason why I stayed there"

"Paid for a king suite with a whirlpool tub. No tub. Ila at desk very rude and said she couldn’t do anything about it because we booked through Expedia. Also charged more than the advertised rate for a pet. Hot tub was warm not hot. Pool and hot tub area not clean. Would not come there again"

"Room "looked" clean, but I saw 2 cockroaches as soon as I turned on the bathroom light. Then, there was another one when I pulled back the bed covers under the covers. Then later on I saw 2 more crawling up the wall behind the TV. They definitely need to bomb for them. Chair smelled like dog. Probably need to shampoo both the rug and the chair. Breakfast was good tho. And it was cheap. But I won't be back. "

"Safe, quiet and clean! Spacious room. Public paved hiking trail behind the property along the Catawba River. Nice breakfast bar included."

"Firehouse Inn is filled with olde world charm. Hand painted walls, claw foot chairs, Bose audio system for easy listening, TV and a fireplace in large living room. Dining area can seat multiple guests in comfort. The hospitality is amazing! Donna’s cooking skills are mouthwatering and Mary is the go to person to get you settled in. Our bedroom had a very comfortable bed, lounge chair with ottoman and spotless bathroom. Shower was large enough for two people 👍! Will definitely visit again."

"Room was clean, but we found a hair in the bed, so could be a little cleaner. Bathroom was spotless and beautiful! Terry, the woman at the front, was wonderful to talk to and very understanding to us getting in late on check in. We ended up checking out a little late and they had no problem with it too. Overall, a great stay and will be comjng back in the summer! "

"The reason I gave the Inn a poor rating on amenities was the bar was closed, the restaurant was closed, and the staff(which was excellent) was only on duty from 8 a.m.to 8 p.m. Lucky we didn't need anything as the rooms were well stocked, but if we did we would have to call and wait for a person to come help. I think that the Inn should have let me know they were on a winter schedule until Memorial Day and the bar and restaurant were closed. I probably would have booked somewhere else. It is a...

"Most amazing right in the middle of the mountains stay I’ve ever had! The owners are phenomenal people and the city is being built back up but it’s busy and stores are open for business! If your thinking about booking just do it ☺️"
