"We travel a few times a year south from Pa. As we get older we have the luxury to break up the trek. We usually stop in Beckley WV, however friends told us about Wythville being a great little old town along the Blue Ridge. Great stop! Love Bolling Wilson Hotel and the bar/restaurant. Great history of 1st Lady Edith Bolling Wilson family home. The hotel has a great bar with nice cocktails and great food. Try the brussels sprout with goat cheese. Nice wine selection."

"Hotel was clean and rooms were well equipped. The only concern was that the heater thermostat did not seem to work as the heater did not turn off after the temperature was reached. "

"I would never stay here again. I traveled with my 5-year-old, 1-year-old, and 3-month-old baby, and the experience was extremely disappointing. The pictures online do not match the actual condition of the hotel at all. Our room smelled unpleasant, looked very old, and the walls were dirty and clearly needed repainting. The beds were very hard, and the blankets were stained and worn out. The only decent thing in the room were the pillows. The towels were rough and felt old, and several lights and lamps in the room were broken. The shower was also in poor condition and appeared broken, and there were bugs in the shower while we were using it, which was extremely uncomfortable and unacceptable—especially when traveling with small children. Overall, this hotel is very run down and poorly maintained. Based on our experience, I do not feel it should even be open to guests in its current condition."
