"I give this review one star because our room was clean and overall just fine. But I couldn't believe the state of the property. We were on the 4th floor and on our first night could smell something awful near the elevator bank/ice machine. It turned out it was a dead mouse and by the smell it had been dead for a while. We called down to housekeeping to report it and it took TWO DAYS for them to remove it! Then the elevator broke and was unrepaired for another 24 hours+! Lastly, I was only sent a receipt for part of my bill and when I called to request full documentation of my expenses, I had a very rude conversation with the front desk, refusing to send me my receipt! I am shocked by the terrible customer service and state of the property. I will not return to this Hyatt."

"The property’s only value is its location. The rooms are dated and in need of updating. It’s a nice looking building in an excellent location - right across the street from two performing arts venues and in the midst of Rutgers University. The lobby looks fine and so does the restaurant. But the rooms look like a budget motel. We only stayed there for convenience - we were attending an event at the hotel and the theater across the street. There was a wedding and a gala there Saturday evening, so that must have been too much for the kitchen staff to handle and they told us when we checked in that breakfast would not be available in the morning."

"We stayed for a couple of hours into our planned 4-night visit. But we saw a few things that prompted us to cancel our stay and leave. My husband saw a prostitute in the hallway, and the lobby smelled like marijuana. The pool was packed with people. Our shower leaked all over the floor, and our TV didn't work. We didn't feel comfortable staying there with our kids because we worried about safety and, potentially, bed bugs. Fortunately, the staff was very helpful and fully refunded our trip."

"The location was undergoing renovations, ceilings were open and the parking lot was being resurfaced. There was an odd smell and the rooms were fairly outdated, with stains and mold in areas. The breakfast was a disaster, the waffle irons were on but no mix, and the juice dispenser was empty. There was no butter for the toast and no milk for cereal. When I asked the teen in the kitchen room, he simply said no. That was the end. He opened the juice dispenser showing the empty spots and said they were out of mix and other things. I get its a 2 star motel, but it was a disappointment."
