"Great location for exploring San Francisco. We used Lyft, bus, light rail, and walked to the Embarcadero, North Beach, Union Square, and Oracle Park. Very comfortable beds, quiet, great-smelling products, and a spotless bathroom. The staff was very attentive, and my daughter commented on the Forbes service. I assumed the property was newly renovated when it was completed in 2023."

"Old building, in renovation right now. My room was clean, it had all the basics. The front desk staff was great and very helpful. The property is secure, quiet at night, walking distance from many nice cafes etc. Good for an affordable short term stay. "

"I have stayed at this hotel a half dozen times now, and it is my go to in San Francisco. The location is perfectly central, right next to the Chinatown gate and just between Union Square and the financial district. The immediate neighborhood has walkable conveniences ranging from neighborhood markets to coffee shops and lovely small restaurants - particularly several French cafes and bistros. All is always spotlessly clean, safe, and quiet, and prices are a good value for SF. I recommend...

"The building itself is truly impressive, with a sense of history and grandeur that makes a strong first impression. The location is also excellent, very convenient for exploring San Francisco. That said, some areas of the hotel feel dated. The hallways in particular look old and have a harsh white lighting that feels more like a hospital than a luxury property. The rooms have high ceilings and a good size, which is a plus, but the bathrooms are relatively small. The white lighting in the rooms...

"The hotel location is fantastic and the stash are generally very helpful and courteous. My reason for a three star rating was based on personal issues like bed and pillow comfort and noise levels between rooms. The mattress being too soft for my back; and the pillows being too thick for my comfort level. Also the quality of breakfast foods, especially the eggs, in my opinion is substandard. The eggs fell and taste heavily processed. Overall however I think the hotel offers reasonable value and...

"There were no staff to have contact with and I was put on first floor in disabled room that did not have a dead bolt. And the sign said no vacancy. As a female traveling alone this was unacceptable. Having no staff to interact with was particularly challenging…."
