"Great stay in a great pub/inn in a lovely village. Originally we were looking for somewhere near York and picked this place at random – so got lucky. Decent-sized, comfortable room, the beer 'proper' Yorkshire, and the food was excellent throughout – we could have eaten almost amything on the quite extensive menu. "We had an amazing time at this place. Staff were really friendly, delicious breakfast and afternoon tea, great spa facilities, and the treatments were amazing. Highly recommended. Only minor issue was only one channel would work on the TV due to signal issues. A smart TV would have been good."

"Nice rooms. Bathroom too small for me unfortunately. Pub looks a bit tired and could do with a makeover. Steps to rooms are metal fire escape outside at the back but treads not deep enough so be careful walking down them. Good atmosphere."
