Motel One Zürich
6/10 Okay
"The hotel isn't right in the old town but is conveniently located near a tram stop that takes you to Bahnhofstrasse with Paradeplatz a 10-minute stroll away. I think the building must have been a telephone exchange or something and is massive. It is well insulated from noise of other guests, and although I was by the elevator I heard nothing. You can hear the tram go by from time to time, though.
The room decoration was modern and hip, but the amenities are minimal. No body or hand lotion, only one paper cup, no iron, no slippers or robe, no coffee maker. There is a safe in the room, but there is a minuscule clothing rack that can accommodate maybe 5 hangers max, and two very high and tiny shelves for clothes. There is no luggage rack although I suppose there is a small wooden bench that could perhaps serve as one. The "separate sitting area" is a lounge chair and a small, round table. If you are here to sight see and travel very light, the room may be fine; but I would not recommend this place for the business traveler as there is no desk.
And the shower drain didn't work well and flooded the tiny bathroom.
The breakfast, however, was a nice buffet spread with many choices. The accessible entrance is not easy to find, and if you don't, you'll have to drag your suitcase up one of two steep stair cases. Better signage would have been nice."

ibis Styles Zurich City Center

"Generally the hotel is fine for a night or two. However, at this price point, it lacks a lot of basic amenities. The room is very weirdly designed. The shower and sink are inside the room. Yet the toilet is seperate, in a very claustrophobic room. There are no slippers, cotton pads, shoe horn, minibar or even a single bottle of water. They tell you to use the sink if you need to drink water, which doesn’t taste bad. As for the positives, the room was immaculately clean. Couldn’t find a single speck of dust on the bed sheets and pillow covers. The hotel is located very close to the main train station, which made things really easy. The road leading to the hotel from the station is very luggage friendly. When I’ve arrived at the hotel, they’ve let me store my luggage in a locked luggage room. There is free water and coffee at the reception area. Overall, for a short trip, it is not a bad place to stay. However, the room would problaly feel a bit cramped after a couple of days"

Boutique Hotel Wellenberg
8/10 Good
"The rooms are clean, and modern, and breakfast is good. There is no individual temperature control for the room, so can be a bit stuffy. Two of the ladies front desk staff members are quite nice and helpful, while the guy was a bit stuffy. Overall, it is a nice hotel with a very convenient location."

Saint Georges Hotel

"The room is well cleaned. Location is very convenient for the travellers"

Novotel Zurich City West
10/10 Excellent
"Loved the location. Easy to get around. Pool was a nice bonus. Even the pull out was comfortable. Beer was cold in the lobby lounge! :) "

Hotel Limmathof
8/10 Good
"Good location, about 5 minute walk from central station and just around the corner from old town. Hotel is old but well maintained. However, since the hotel is right by the light rail and a congested pedestrian area it is very loud and noisy if your hotel room faces the street. There was no air conditioning in our room so it was a little stuffy and we had to open the windows and again it was very loud so if you are a light sleeper you will not like this hotel."

Crowne Plaza Zürich by IHG
10/10 Excellent
"Great location and the food at the restaurant was wonderful."

Hotel Montana Zürich
6/10 Okay
"Room was clean but small. Bed was ok but pillows were paper thin and incredibly uncomfortable. Room was hot, no a/c, but a fan was provided. Free breakfast was nice since everything in Switzerland is incredibly overpriced. I asked the front desk the night before my flight how much a cab/car service would be to the airport and he said 65 SHF and he could order it for me. Thought that was very nice but it ended up being 85 CHF and the car was gross and smelled terrible. I understand they don't control the taxi service but 20CHF is a bit of a difference from what I was told. Overall property was nice and close to the train station but I'm not sure I would stay there again. Although, I also likely won't return to Switzerland again."

Hotel Scheuble
8/10 Good
"Hotel Scheuble is conveniently located 5 minutes on foot from the Central tram station and very close to the Zurich HBH at the top of the Niederdorf area. The location is hard to beat, with easy transportation and many restaurants in the charming old town, and a very easy walk across the Limmat to Bahnhofstrasse.
The elevators were at times a little wonky, but there are elevators. The small room has a glass-enclosed bathroom but is nicely decorated. The closet area is generous in size, and the "desk" is narrow but long with a number of outlets (Type C and J) but no USB outlets in the room. I appreciated having an espresso machine and a hot water kettle in the room as well as a luggage rack. The WiFi worked well.
The breakfast was not super exciting, but you can have cook to order eggs.
The staff was very helpful and seemed to accommodate customers in many languages. I arrived early morning but was given a room right away.
I would recommend this hotel."
