    Center of town, perfect hospitality.

    To start off with, the room was very clean. The hallway does smell a little bit of cigarettsmoke, but then again, so does most hotels in this country. The service is absolutely splendid, they always serve breakfast in your room for example. The receptionist was also very helpful. It's located in the very center of the old town, so it's only a 5 min walk - anywhere really! There is a bar and a club in the building, so you will hear some base from the music, but there is ear-plugs by the bed. If you're a gay tourist you will find this to be the perfect place to stay, if not, it's still a good hotel for a good price.

    Ottimo per ragazzi e giovani coppie

    La camera è gradevole e molto pulita. Il servizio in camera della colazione è fantastico!!! Consiglierei il pernottamento a giovani coppie e ragazzi. Non adatto a famiglie e persone più anziane in quanto la presenza di una discoteca al piano terra, aperta tutti i giorni fino alle 4 del mattino rende le condizioni di rumorosità un pò critiche. Vengono forniti tappi per le orecchie dal personale direttamente sul comodino. I piani 4° e 5° dovrebbero essere meno rumorosi...noi pernottavamo al 3°...dove la musica è piuttosto fastidiosa, anche se non impossibile da sopportare. Dipende da persona a persona. Nel complesso comunque esperienza positiva. La posizione è centralissima, rispetto al centro storico di Zurigo.

    Negativt: bråk fra gata/diskotek, ikke fungernde wifi, gammel rom, resepsjon stenger kl 17, ingen airconditon. Postive: frokost på rommet, hotellet ligger veldig sentralt.

    次は泊まりたくないホテル

    受付の態度は悪く、挨拶もしない。サービスも悪い。すこし日本人をなめてるホテルです。だから人には勧められないし、自分も次は泊まりたいとは思いません。快適な旅をするのなら、こういうことで嫌な気持ちになりたくないですよね。無線LANは使用可能とありましたが、接続が何度も切断され、ネットの使用環境は最悪です。当然、スタッフに聞いても、対策は「分からない」の一点張り。良かった点も記しておくと、場所はよし、中央駅からも歩いて行ける距離です。

    部屋はきれいだけど・・・

    良かった点：値段がお手頃。部屋がきれい。悪かったところ：騒音で眠れない（１Fがバーで朝方までどんちゃん騒ぎをしている。）サービスが悪い（7:30頃チェックアウトしたかったのですが、スタッフを呼びに行ったら、8:00にならないとチェックアウトできないといわれ、なくなく電車を2本遅らせました）　夜遅くまで遊びたい方、音が気にならない方、チェックアウトを早くする必要のない方でしたら、部屋はきれいですし、安価なので良いと思います。

    Vacanza serena

    Ottima la posizione, un po' rumoroso il sabato sera per la vicinanza di locali notturni (si sente la musica se si ha il sonno piuttosto leggero). Il personale è molto disponibile e gentilissimo. Il trattamento è soddisfacente sotto tutti gli aspetti.

    Bra láge, centralt och rummet va rent, skona sangar, gratis WIFI, men discoteket nedanfor gjorde att man inte kunde sova anda tills kl04.00. bodde pà fjarde vaningen och det hordes anda dit upp...en annan sak som jag inte tyckte om, att badrummet luktade moggel. Men annars va allt ok, va knappt pà hotellet. Trevlig personal.

    Minimalist hotel but centrally located - for a younger crowd

    This hotel does not have much to offer in terms of service - it is not even staffed in the evenings. The "lobby" consisted of a corner desk and *one* chair for a guest. The rooms were sparsley furnished. It did have free breakfast, and free WiFi, which were a plus. The hotel's location is probably its best and worst aspects. It is centrally located to the pedestrian zone on the right side of the Limmat, within walking distance of basically everything in the center of Zurich. However, it is located in the same building as two nightclubs. I stayed on a Monday night, and it was quiet. But, I am told that it can be extremely noisy on a week-end night. Even the clerk who checked me in recommended that if I were to come back, I should get a room on the 5th floor, where it is quieter. While the service was minimalist, the three staff members I interacted with were pleasant and accommodating. I would say the hotel might appeal to a younger crowd.

    The Goldenes Schwert Hotel in Zurich

    While the Goldenes Schwert Hotel appears to be an acceptable option in Zurich in terms of rates and location, it has got a major inconvenience for business/family travellers: it is co-located with a lively nightclub. Loud dance music can be heard across the whole hotel building up to 4am (I stayed on a Tuesday). The website description does mention the existence of a nightclub, but one never realises that it is compulsory to listen to its music during the entire night. Needless to say, a quiet night sleep is out of question. On the positive side the rooms are spacious and clean,

    Preis/Leistungs-Verhältnis ist gut, wenn es Ihnen nichts ausmacht, dass die Discomusik bis um 04:00 Uhr dröhnt. Aber dafür werden vom Hotel auch Ohrenstöpsel zur Verfügung gestellt.

    Unless hard of hearing/deaf don't stay here

    Conveniently hidden away in the description of the hotel and conditions it mentions the hotel has two discos running to 4am everyday...and that a quiet room cannot be guaranteed. TRUST ME - unless you are hard of hearing/immune to noise or deaf, you will NOT be able to sleep due to the noise and vibration. We were on the 3rd floor which may be the worst, but just don't risk it. NO price is worth staying here which is a pity - the location is great.

    Die Lage des Hotels in der Altstadt hat uns gut gefallen. Leider befindet sich direkt am Hotel eine Disco, so dass bis morgens um 4 Uhr an Schlaf kaum zu denkenn ist. Das ist ein primärer Grund, das Hotel nicht zu empfehlen.

    Et hotell "beregnet" for homofile, men ikke utelukkende for dem. For såvidt greit nok det. Det som ikke var greit var at det er en nattklubb i hotellbygningen. Støyen fra denne gjorde det umulig å sove, selv med ørepropper.

    good for one night enroute to Italy

    Hotel was easy to find from the station and ideally located in the old town enabaling a quick look at the main tourist sights. However right in the centre of the night club district and the provided ear plugs were needed! No restaurant so room service for breakfast ,which was very generous. Booking had implied no breakfast so this was a welcome bonus, especially as Switzerland is VERY expensive.

    Hotel Goldenes Schwert, Zurich

    The hotel is perfect situated in the old city and close to Zurichsee and shopping street, Bahnhof Strasse. Rooms very clean. No restaurant in the hotel, but breakfast - roomservice incl. in the roomrate. Staff is very serviceminded. The hotel is gayfriendly with a nightclub and bar at streetlevel. We as hetero couple enjoyed our stay at this hotel and would like to recommend it to others. The music from ngihtclub is heard all over the hotel, but if you book topfloor and especially room 40. You can sleep without earplugs at night :-)

    Very good value for money but the disco

    I had a very good pleasent stay, the service, the location is very central, the breakfast in the morning. The only downside is the noise of the disco that starts at 10pm and stops at 4am. I had to wear ear plugs but not my wife.

    O hotel é bem localizado, porém não tão próximo a estação principal. Para chegar é necessário cerca de 15 minutos andando e o piso tipo pedras portuguesas não facilita a condução das bagagens de rodas. Os quartos são amplos, limpos e o pessoal até certo ponto simpáticos. Em baixo do hotel tem um café-bar e uma disco-club que funcionam com musicas de balada a noite toda. O Som audível nos quartos, para quem tem dificuldades para dormir poderá ter problemas. O Café-bar e o disco-club, juntamente com o Hotel fazem parte do complexo. O Café da manhã somente é servido no quarto e o seu pedido é feito mediante o preenchimento de uma comanda que deverá estar na porta até as 5h da manhã. O seu pedido será servido na hora em que você determinar da comanda, pontualmente.

    Central but noisy

    It's just right in the middle of the cute old town, but it's extremely loud. There're a couple of cafes on the street and a pub just right below the hotel, which makes the whole room vibrate during the night. The service is very good and they are at least considered enough to provide you with earplugs, though with low frequencies those are rather useless. If you're the party type and rather sleep late in the morning, then is a perfect hotel, but if you're looking for a good night sleep, you better choose another area.
