They stayed completely separate downstairs, and left you to your own devices. Downside would be the 2 shared bathrooms, although you hardly notice that other people are staying there and using them, and they were cleaned multiple times a day. "Really comfy, clean room but a few oddities - no door on the bathroom which is fine for a solo traveller but maybe not ideal for couples, front door lock broke and wasn’t fixed until the following day (was removed completely!), nespresso machine broke and was removed.
