"The area is quiet, and semi-rural, with easy access off the main road. The unit was clean and presentable, but dated, the unit needs some money spent on the property, and furnishings. The staff was kind and courteous, accommodating with requests. I do wish that some milk had been put in the unit, along with a hand towel, and facecloth. "

"Great hostel with very friendly staff! We stayed in a private ensuite which was newly renovated and looked great and was very clean and big enough. The only issue we had was with the water temperature regulation in our ensuite shower, but they said they would look into it. The location of the hostel couldn't be better in the center of Taupo, just a minute's walk to the lake and nice restaurants. Definitely recommend staying at BoBs!"

"We were extremely disappointed to be confronted with a run down house which was badly in need of maintenance and nothing like the photos on the website. Tired after driving thirteen hours we viewed the room and facilities, Room was tiny and bed/bedding very worn, barely room to get around the bed, door was locked with a dead lock and on the outer of the door was a patch of black board paint with our surname written in chalk. "The owner /staff of the hostel is very friendly and also very helpful. Loved the relaxed feel of the hostel!!! The mattresses of the beds are a bit dated though. Otherwise all good. "
