"I don’t often write reviews but feel compelled to here. After a long day of driving from Culloden, we hit the brunt of Storm Amy in the dark before we ever hit the Skye bridge. After what felt like a lifetime in 90+ mph winds we finally got to the hotel and felt like we were walking into a friends house. The staff made us feel incredibly welcome. "Our hosts were very friendly and offered advise regarding Storm Amy's approach, where we could see the stags locally (which we did!) and regarding returning via Bealach na Ba which we did in dense cloud on the way in. "Simply Outstanding. Don't go by the over- or under-photoshopped pics. The place is extremely comfortable, well-sized, with a plush bathroom, all imaginable amenities, the nicest kitchen we have seen, and amazing views. Please don't forget to gaze at the stars at night. We stayed in the Learach room. Since this is the located the "lowest" of all cabins, it gets the least amount of afternoon / evening sun and limited views of the water from outside, but we didn't mind. "

"Great location right in Portree. Good food in the restaurant and there are many other restaurants within walking distance. Our room was right at the front of the hotel and there was some noise in the square but it did not bother us and I am a very light sleeper. Staff were really friendly and helpful. In spite of being in the middle of a major refurbishment the staff were extremely corteous and helpful and made every effort to ensure our stay was a good one. "Staying at Gleann an Ronnaich proved one of then highlights of my extended time in Scotland.
