"It's a piece of luxury in an interesting place - don't let the exterior building fool you. You can be walking into another world in Sandakan and Hotel Sandakan is a sanctuary amongst it. The staff emulate the local Sabahan hospitality and friendliness, I will stay again next time."

"If you just want a bed for a night it is fine. Definitely wouldn’t want to stay longer. Breakfast was very basic no cereal or milk, only 1 fresh fruit papaya I think. Probably wouldn’t stay again but conveniently located to airport."

"Here you get a small cheap room with not much nearby. Couldn’t find a beer at night. The small room was clean and the staff were nice. There’s no lift/elevator so if you’re on the 2nd floor or higher it’s just up and down the stairs. No phone in the room so every time you have a question for the front desk you have to go down the 2 or 3 flights of stairs. I was just there 1 night so it wasn’t much of a problem. Not sure what else is available in Lahad Datu."

"Pictures are oudatted, the hotel sucks a bit No wifi in the room TV was not working Lift did not run properly, I could go upstairs but not downstairs depending 😑 Most of the electric sockets are not in good condition For the price it s possible to find better offers"

"The resort and facilities are basic compared to a city hotel, but it's really fantastic when you consider where it is. We really enjoyed our stay!"

"Very close to the Orangutang sanctuary so perfect for what we wanted breakfast was very nice as well."

"The most amazing stay. The kitchen excelled with all our food allergies and nothing was too much trouble for them. We saw wild Orangutans near the lodge. Only 4 rooms, so quiet and less mosquitoes than those places on the river. I loved my stay and highly recommend to others."
