"Bijzondere locatie om te overnachten qua oudheid en historie. Leuke en gezellige bar met grote lounge en vele fijne stoelen. Achter het hotel is ook een grote parkeerplaats en het hotel zelf ligt aan de hoofdstraat dus wel wat drukker voor de deur. Continentaal ontbijt was niet heel uitgebreid maar wel oké. Je kon English breakfast los bestellen. Je moet smalle trappen lopen richting kamer. Die was klein en compact ook qua badkamer."

"We booked to stay from Friday the 22nd until Sunday the 24th. However, we had to leave a night early due to unsuitability of the provided fridge for the room.

"The room was very clean and the bed had lovely sheets. The shower was very good. However the main problem was there was no place to have breakfast, I was informed of this on my way to the hotel! As we came by train we could not go and find a place for breakfast. Staff told us there was a cafe where we could eat 2 minutes up the road, it was not a cafe but a service station that sold hot pies. "Wes re a couple and stayed for one night only as we had a course in Colchester the next day. Pleasant stay, breakfast very well served, staff helpful, location very convenient. We had an accessible room just noticed the shower curtains a bit dirty but all the rest was in perfect condition. Car park is paid for 8£ per night."

"Heating in the initial room was not able to be turned on. No equivalent room was available. I was told I would have to pay for an upgrade or stay in a freezing cold room. Finally, 2 hours later, I was advised I would be moved to another room at no additional cost. This should have been athe immediate and unquestioning solution. Very disappointing.
