The staff were lovely and truly made this such a special place to stay. While other hotels may offer more modern facilities, Oyado Kiyomizuya provided a unique, authentic experience, from a peaceful private onsen, to spacious tatami mat rooms, to delicious kaiseki dinner and breakfast and more. "An older property with some quirks, but the location is ideal, and the staff wonderful! The in-room mini onsen a gift after a day of skiing. A close walk to all the fun restaurants and shops of Hirafu, and the ski in/ out access is ideal. Shout out to the front desk team who answered all questions and helped us book a car at the last minute when uber flaked."
