"Callum was absolutely fantastic in making up for the deficiencies of the bar staff, who were slow, and nonchalant. He went the extra mile and restored my faith in good customer service. Pool, gym and facilities are great, as was the room and plenty of parking."

"Bad points first ,shower head retainer loose could not use the shower without having to hold it,bath very high to get in ,no safety grab handles,restricted access.Bed mattress looked new but was most uncomfortable as it had formed a central hump and recess on either side causing persons to roll out of hence sleep was deprived,not good. Good points : Food was great well cooked , excellent choices on cereal ,fruit preserves, yoghurts ,juices etc,the catering ladies were welcoming,polite, excellent,rooms were spotless,car parking good,all staff attentive and helpful. Overall a fair hotel that has gone a long way into making your stay memorable,hope our comments are of help to the hotel proprietors and future visitors alike. We would advise anyone physically disabled to check with the hotel,to ensure their requirements are able to be met."

"The room was extremely comfortable, clean and full of character, staff went above and beyond with every detail and extremely polite and helpful. The food was excellent and catered for everyone’s price and taste. The gym and pool facilities are well played out and clean. I can’t wait to visit again"

"Unfortunately, our stay was extremely disappointing and did not represent the standard we expected for the price paid. The issues we experienced included: 1. Broken windows in our room. 2. Two single mattresses pushed together, leaving an uncomfortable gap in the middle which made it very difficult to sleep. 3. A dirty and stained sofa in the room. 4. Constant banging and noise from the room above throughout the night, resulting in little to no sleep. 5. The inability to order a traditional English breakfast, as only chicken sausages and turkey bacon were available this hotel done not do a full English 6. Insufficient milk provided in the room, meaning we could not even make a full cup of coffee. 7. An additional charge for steak on the advertised three-course meal. And you can not buy separate meals 8. Overall, the hotel was significantly overpriced for the quality and service received. Taken together, these issues seriously affected our enjoyment of the stay and fell well below what would reasonably be expected from a hotel charging these rates."

"The room was clean overall; dusty fan amd extremely bad smell in the balcony (I don't know if it is from hotel or from nearby area). That really made the stay unpleasant. Our room was extremely dated and photographs shown on expedia didn't capture our room. It has very old looking furtinuture and textured ceiling. No Air conditioning but the fan was pretty good. I saw some people sleep with the door of the balcony open but I wasn't sure about safety. Pool was clean - time was restricted to half an hour. One day we didn't get a slot. However another day they let us stay for an extra slot as no ne booked after us. Breakfast was gorgeous: extremely fresh. Breakfast was probably my highlight. The Blake cafe which was heavily photographed for advertiesment was not open for our stay. Great location: sea, Butlins, Hotham Park -- all within walking distance."

Avisford Park Hotel

"Beware of the room you are given. My wife, myself and my 2 kids (5 and 7) were given a room that only had 1 single bed and 1 double bed. Ended up pushing the beds together so the kids didn't fall out of bed. Terrible. I tried messaging the hotel prior to arriving to query this, but messages were not replied to. Also, we stayed here last year (with a room that accommodated us), and the food last year was vastly superior. Pizza last year was rustic, and home made style. This year the pizza bases looked and tasted like ready made from Tesco. Really unpleasant."
