"Great place as a base for exploring the Borders. Overall stay was good. Room was exceptionally clean(had a couple of minor niggles but these were dealt with happily and swiftly). Stayed in a double which was quite small (with only one bedside table). Would 'upgrade' to a larger room if staying again. The best thing about this hotel is the people and the outstanding service they provide-nothing too much trouble and so friendly. Ooh- and good food including a fab breakfast. "

"We took 3 kids, 6,5 and 3 month old and were really pleased with the place. Pub is newly refurbished and the menu was fantastic, drinks really good too. "Staff were really pleasant and were not an issue. The room and hotel is massively outdated and not worth the money it is sold for. In my opinion it is falsely advertised The pictures looked nothing like our room. The bedding was a yellow colour. The headboard has sweat stains on it. The bath side/floor was rotted, the furniture was extremely outdated. Rooms were too hot, when opening window the extract from the kitchen entered the room. Light from the hallway lit the room all night Not a good experience "
