"El hotel es lindo, super recomendable. Lo que si reservamos el petite bungalo y decia que tenia una cama queen lo cual no es verdad. La cama es de plaza y media y no fue muy comodo. No regresaria a ese cuarto. "

"Owners and staff makes you feel like at home, very attentive. Access is a little hard due to the road and not all drivers are familiar with the hotel, however the view is priceless"

Learn more about Marcara

Nestled in the Andes, this charming town offers spectacular views of snow-capped Huascarán peak and colourful local markets selling traditional textiles. Hike to nearby Laguna 69 in Huascarán National Park or join locals celebrating the annual Virgen de la Asunción festival with music and regional cuisine.

You shouldn't do this hike unless you're in good shape or have acclimated to the high altitude, but it's so worth it. I went with a tour company from Huaraz. Getting to Laguna 69, after passing Llanguanuco and meadows and cows and ruins was incredibly rewarding. It's a beautiful place - don't miss it!
