"Arrived late and the night staff were really accommodating and helpful. The room was hard to find, when I went in it was cold. Once I found the air con/heater. All was good. I was kept awake by noises from both sides of the room until around 2. But I got a decent amount of sleep after that. In the morning I got up, showered (the shower gel was facing the wall which made it hard to dispense) and went for breakfast. I only had a football shirt and a jumper on me, so wore the shirt to breakfast. The young girl in the restaurant was really helpful, seated me and showed the breakfast to me. Then an older lady who seemed to be in charge came in. She asked everyone if they were ok, ignored me, gave me dirty looks and made backhanded comments about my clothes. To say I was embarrassed was an understatement. All the other tables were groups of women or couples. Whom she was lovely to. I was completely shocked by her behaviour. She cleared the plates around me and left mine. It was awful. I’m staying again soon, I will make sure I dress “appropriately” "

"Just had a single night stay with some friends. Staff helpful and friendly, room lovely, clean. Free WiFi us nice as the signal in a big old building with thick walls is non existent. Getting an uber to go out simple. Breakfast has plenty of options. Didn't have the time to use the spa"

"We were really unhappy at first as the room we were given the toilet stank, I went to reception to complain about this and the only choice I was given was to pay for an upgrade.!! Although it was only £15 I don't think that this was fair, especially as it was uninhabitable The receptionist said that he would pass this on to his manager but I have not heard a thing We are going again, but are obviously very wary about it all We are going quite a few times to this hotel and the previous rooms have been really nice I must admit I was quite shocked about this "

"The room wasnt very clean in bottom draw was a empty whiskey bottle and the windows had mould around them At evening we had our meal on the 1st course which was soup there was a bit of plastic found in it the staff couldnt apogise enough but didnt really make me enjoy rest of my tea leaving it "

"This is our 2nd time at this hotel & this time we asked for a room on the top floor as the lower floor twin rooms have a view of the pool /gym metal roof . Im pleased to say the room was newly decorated and was beautiful with a really good view . Parking is charged at £5 which is a shame its not included. breakfast is £12.50 if booked in advance but we ate at the pub next door £7.99 Ive tried both places for breakfast and can confirm that the hotel one is better despite being more expensive."

"Parking was free we stayed on top floor view was nice but room heating was not working properly and bathroom door didn't close when we arrived atmosphere seemed pleasant but as i got to reception the receptionist i was greeted by a unwelcoming receptionist which seemed moody really felt uncomfortable checking she did not tell us properly about our stay just checked us in and told us your room is on top floor did not even say enjoy your stay or anything for that reason i will not be going back to stay at the village hotel worst stay ever "
