"We stayed as a small family during the Easter holidays, mainly to use the pool and spa facilities, with the hotel’s proximity to Gloucester Docks (around 2.5 km) also a key reason for booking. Overall, the experience was mixed. On arrival, our room had issues—most notably the shower. The bath–shower mixer tap diverter didn’t work, and water pressure was extremely poor, to the point even a bath was just a trickle. At £120 midweek (without breakfast), this didn’t feel good overall value. That said, the sole reception staff member was excellent. After a couple of prompts, and while clearly managing the desk alone, he moved us to a suite around 9pm, resolving the issue before bedtime. He also explained the water system is quite old, which may account for the pressure. The pool and spa were clean and functional—the sauna and steam room were up to temperature, and the gym well equipped—but overall felt dated and didn’t match expectations set by the price and photos. We didn’t use the restaurant/bar on the evening or for breakfast- there were no evident menus beyond an A4 printout, and pricing felt high; it was empty whenever we walked past. More generally, the hotel doesn’t match the polished Expedia photos. It looked dated, and even after the room change, the amenities and bedding were below expectations, particularly compared to Premier Inn. In summary, excellent staff, but the property and value for money unfortunately fell short"

"Friendly staff, welcomed me on arrival. I was early so waited in the lounge for check in, and as soon as my room was ready the staff member came to find me to tell me i could check in. Swimming pool area was clean and a decent size. Room clean and comfortable "

"Staff were all very friendly and attentive. Room was lovely and very good value for money. Hotel pool area needs an update but good for the kids. Bathroom in room needs a really good clean - grime around bath/shower. Shower had barely any power. The complimentary toiletries were not replinished when we arrived, which is very disappointing and a lack of attention to detail. "

"Pool and spa were brilliant good for kids not too busy and nice areas to relax. Staff were really helpful at breakfast especially with the kids. It would have been nice to have a vegetarian sausages on the menu. Reception staff were amazing check in and checkout really efficient. Overall highly recommend and we would defo come back "

"The hotel is near alot of businesses for food, shopping, and entertainment. Yet, it is dated and the lighting is dark to not show how wore down it is. Old is not an issue but dated and rundown us different. You have to pay extra for every selling point they offer. So for aĺl that unless you're set on swimming in a busy pool etc. then not worth it. The good thing is the location and the room was not freezing like most hotels. The staff were responsive. "

Both of our rooms were spacious, modern, and extremely comfortable. The second room we booked for our guests was equally impressive, and they were very happy with the comfort and overall experience. The cleanliness in both rooms was impeccable—everything felt fresh, well maintained, and thoughtfully arranged. We truly appreciated the complimentary amenities, including parking, water, and fruits—small details that made a big difference and reflected genuine hospitality. The location is perfect—peaceful and quiet, yet very convenient for accessing Oxford city center, making it ideal for a relaxed stay. The staff were courteous, professional, and always ready to help, which made the entire experience even more enjoyable. "Centralised temperature control was broken and staff failed to address the issue in 2 consecutive nights. Rooms were heated through centralised system and there was no maintenance staff to fix it and thermostats in the rooms were disabled, it wasn’t possible to control room temperature and opening windows led to major motorway (M4) noise in the room. This led to very uncomfortable and sleepless nights for entire family!!! "
