"Amazing staff that would do anything to help and an unbeatable location. Rooms were incredible (and always somehow smelt terrific) and breakfast was not perfect but a good effort. Didn't give a perfect score because the WiFi was very hit and miss (more miss than hit), rooms sometimes got incredibly cold and were a bit odd. "I would've given this hotel an excellent rating were it not for the terrible wifi connection. It's brand new right beside Shanhu Lake (north side). Be sure to show the Chinese address and name of the hotel. Very few taxi drivers know where it is since it's brand new. The hotel's telephone number in expedia is incorrect! I've attached a screenshot of the hotel's Chinese name and address below. Even with this information, our taxi driver had trouble finding it. Oddly it doesn't show up in a google...

"The hotel is located at the center of the city by the scenic Banyan Lake. Easily accessible to public transportations and restaurants. "Judging by the pictures you might think this is a classy, well kept hotel on a beautiful lake, right? Wrong. This hotel is pretty old with only a few updated areas. The non smoking rooms wreak of cigarette smoke, the gym is an absolute joke and if you want to swim in the pool, they insist you wear a swimming cap! The western restaurant in the hotel is $20/person per meal and is sub-par at best. The surrounding neighborhood is pretty run down and isn't a great place to take a leisurely stroll."

"We were here as a quick stop on our way to Chengdu. The area around the hotel made for some nice local exploring, and the hotel had a nice pool for some lap swimming (20m). We weren't there long enough to take advantage of the breakfast, but the wifi seemed to work well enough for anyone who might be here on a work trip."
