"Beautiful resort and the nicest, accommodating staff! Who doesn't love an outdoor shower in your room, a service button at your beach chaise lounges, homemade sorbets and ice cream, desserts that were works of art, and fabulous cocktails!"

"Wir waren in zwei weiteren 5 Sterne Hotels neben diesem Hotel auf Mauritius. Dieses Hotel war unter den Hotels das schlechteste und das teuerste. Absolut nicht zu empfehlen.
1. Meer
Das Meer ist sehr steinig und felsig. Zum schwimmen wurde ein sehr kleines Areal zur Verfügung gestellt. Nichtmal in diesem Areal wurden die Felsen, Algen usw. gesäubert.
Zum Baden wurden Plastikbadeschuhe ausgeliehen, die keine 2 € kosten.
Von einem 5 Sterne Hotel würde ich erwarten, allein aus Hygiene Gründen,...

"Disappointing hotel in a fantastic destination
Mauritius itself is an easy 10/10. It's a beautiful island with amazing beaches, friendly people and plenty to see. We'd definitely return to Mauritius—but we wouldn't stay at Sugar Beach again.
The hotel has a great location on Flic en Flac beach, which is stunning, and the Buddha-Bar is excellent. The staff were always friendly and polite, but it's clear many of them haven't been properly trained (incompetent) and the overall service lets the...

"Had a fantastic time! The facilities were perfrect, well maintained and clean. staff were helpful and hospitable in general. We could also see dolphins swimming near the resort. Very happy with our stay.
Only minor point is that dinner reservations at the restaurants on site can be a bit tricky (e.g. we were given a later booking even though the restaurant wasn’t busy at the time we requested)."
