"We enjoyed our stay and it was excellent value for money. The hotel garden is very nice, but rather than being able to admire the lovely garden down the corridor to the leisure facilities, there is a thick net curtain? The tea and coffee in the room is nice, and freely available in reception There is a small fee for using the pool, and it is very well maintained and the spa area and changing rooms were spotless both times we used them. There's plenty of parking at only a small fee per night."

"Our superior room was looking tired and we didn’t have all the amenities in our room that are described on this site ie slippers,robes,coffee maker,espresso - the listing needs to be updated as I believe we have been “missold” No lift and a lot of stairs to access our room Breakfast was not as good as expected - the cooked breakfast was poor, poached eggs were hard and there was only one choice of pastry on the continental buffet, only one choice of milk and only cubed sugar that you can’t sprinkle on cereal "

"Staff friendly and helper when asked. Rooms basic but clean. Bathroom could be cleaner as looking a bit worn in places and could do with a freshen up."

"Lift was out of order, we had a late checkin and did it as a noise bar, could hear the bar staff very well. Lift wasn’t working, had to climb 3 flights of stairs with our suitcases. Room was nice and clean. Beds lovely and comfy. Evening meal ok. Breakfast not so good, over cooked rubbery eggs, bacon very hard and dried out, overcooked, filer coffee included, other coffees at extra cost. Stayed two nights, but had breakfast out the second morning. Corridor lighting not working, including fire exit lights. Very dark at night, cleaner had to leave the storeroom door open so there was some light in the corridor. Beautiful decor in the pub and eating area, just attention required on the food and essentials like lift and lighting"

"Had a great overnight stay. The smallest rooms ("Cozy Double") are still a good size, and with spa access from 7am - 9pm, great value. Friendly staff, clean room with lots of sun and a big bathroom with large walk-in shower, wonderful spa facilties, and very close to the town centre. Just a few snagging points to mention. * Car parking. I'm sure this has rocketed since we last visited in December. It costs £18 per day to park in the hotel car park - as a hotel guest! Sure, it might be more expensive in the town centre, but I am not a shopper - I am staying at the hotel. If you are coming by car, you'll need to factor in this significant and disproportionate cost. * Half of the channels on the TV didn't work. * Check-out time is 11am, and the key card will stop working at 11:01am. It costs £30/hour you stay over this. Fair enough perhaps, but bear it in mind if you lose track of time in the spa :) Great hotel. But don't forget to add £18/day to your costs!"

"The room wasnt very clean in bottom draw was a empty whiskey bottle and the windows had mould around them At evening we had our meal on the 1st course which was soup there was a bit of plastic found in it the staff couldnt apogise enough but didnt really make me enjoy rest of my tea leaving it "
