From Pontresina on the Bernina Express this is close to St Moritz on the climb up towards Lago Bianco.

Tucked away in the woods in Pontresina is this gorgeous church, Sta. Maria. Only a portion of this church is still standing but inside it contains frescos which date from about 1230. Summer hours are M-F, afternoons only. This is a unique find and getting there is an easy hike from town. It is also located along some great hiking trails, so a picnic lunch is a great idea.
