"The only thing that I found slightly sparse was the fact that there was only one luggage cart, and it was not available when I arrived. Which meant that I had to lug my heavy luggage myself. The receptionist was unable to find a helping hand, but ended up helping me herself, which I appreciated. But I do feel that one cart is simply not enough. The renovated room was awesome. Very comfortable and clean. I would have liked a normal coffee maker though. The little cups make strong coffee and there was no milk available. I did appreciate finding real glassware. Bigger mugs would have been wonderful. I would suggest that the hotel prohibits smoking on the balcony. The rooms that bordered my balcony had people in them who smokes. One cigarettes, the other cannabis. So I really could not enjoy the balcony, But... in general I would gladly recommend this hotel for a comfortable stay near beautiful Edam and Volendam."

"Great hotel in a central location just an easy 10 min walk from the station. Nice sizeable well appointed room and great night's sleep. Quiet too. Breakfast ordered the night before which worked well. Recommend"

"Had a great stay - the room was nice and cleaned everyday. The receptionists were all very helpful and the food was also very nice. The only thing was the shower flooded the bathroom a bit. All in all a great stay and we shall probably be back next year."

"Hotel Posthoorn was a highlight of our trip. Located in the charming town of Monnickendam, it offers an authentic Dutch experience away from the crowds. The town is quaint, welcoming, and easy to explore, with exceptionally clean and efficient public transportation making travel simple. The hotel exceeded expectations. The accommodations were elegant, comfortable, and impeccably maintained. The staff were outstanding—friendly, professional, and genuinely accommodating. A special thank you to Sara, whose warmth and attentiveness made our stay especially memorable. For the quality of the rooms, service, and location, the cost was absolutely worth it. The only drawback was breakfast. While fresh and well-prepared, the selection felt limited for the price. More protein options and fresh vegetables would greatly improve the experience beyond the breads, cold cuts, and omelets offered. One travel tip: wait until you arrive before booking excursions. Giethoorn, while picturesque, felt overrated and required nearly two hours of travel each way for a short canal ride. Instead, visit nearby Edam and Volendam. The Edam Cheese Museum is fascinating, and Volendam is perfect for strolling the harbor, exploring the streets, and taking the ferry. Overall, Hotel Posthoorn provides exceptional accommodations, outstanding service, and an ideal base for exploring a beautiful and authentic part of the Netherlands."
