"The room was lovely and large and clean. They provided crumpets and tasty butter and jam for breakfast. The only issue is that the room was quite warm and there was no Airconditioning."

"Beautiful & impressive stately hotel in lovely surroundings , with well-appointed & well-furnished rooms. Got a very friendly welcome, and had requested a room with a view , if possible - and happily got one over looking the rolling countryside towards the Solway Firth. Breakfast was delicious, staff were very attentive, and meal set us up for our journey into the Lake District."
