"My grandfather used to have a house with Shimla so I am very familiar with the place for the last 50+ years. Willow Banks is absolutely the best value for money you can find in the city. Very clean, very well located right next to the iconic mall road, right next to the tourist lift and very good service and clean and large rooms. Also excellent food options either within the hotel or right next door. Perfect place to stay and enjoy Shimla."

"I booked a suite for family in mid Jan 2017. Size and upkeep of room was good. I requested additional comforter for us and they happily provided the same. I did NOT try food here as we were out and about most of the time. Chech-in and checout was smooth and they happily accepted credit card. Staff was average. "Access to the mall is the only plus. Furnishings in the rooms are outdated and dirty. I never sat in a sofa before that has no back cushions to support you. No convenient electrical outlets to plug electronics or bedside medical devices like CPAP. Breakfast is same old average tasting buffet. No parking. You may get locked out if you are a late night player. Turns absolutely dark at night even the walkways and stairwells to the rooms, so keep a flashlight on hand. I give 2-3 stars, only for the...

"The room was extremely cold, TV did not work, wifi very bad, no hot water in the bathroom. I had to go to bed to get warm. The person at recreation in the afternoon was rude."
