"Location was perfect, secluded in La Fortuna. The gardens were beautiful. We were in a room at the end of the property so it lost a bit of the garden view. Nice they had a pool, though it was showing a bit of age. Loved the wildlife right at the hotel. Room was super clean and nice."

"We loved our stay at Los Lagos. We stayed 4 nights with no kids. Room was very clean and spacious. Appreciated the clothesline on the deck. The grounds were so lush, green and tropical. Breakfast was fantastic with a wide variety hot buffet and a fried egg/omelet station. We enjoyed the hot springs in the afternoon especially in the rain and spent time at the pool bar. Views were fantastic and it was close to town and very easy to use uber to get where we were going. "

"Suwa Villa Arenal was delightful! A little oasis amid the bustle of La Fortuna. It has an inside/outside vibe--the rooms are inside (and air conditioned); the hallways, kitchen and common area are outside and covered, and there are beautiful planted areas (with big trees, a pool, and some outdoor amenities) that are outside but within the walls. One morning I sat in the common kitchen and listened for fifteen minutes to the birds in a large adjacent tree. We really did use the common kitchen and dining area to store and prepare food, and we also used the laundry--very helpful after a sweaty day of hiking! The rooms are not large, but they are well laid out and elegant. I would highly recommend Suwa to anyone visiting La Fortuna."

"I stayed here for three nights. The first two nights were great, and the staff was friendly and helpful. However, my last night raised serious safety concerns for my family. I had to wake up early the next morning for a six-hour drive to Manuel Antonio, but around 1:00 AM, the unit next to ours started playing extremely loud music. A visibly intoxicated couple was yelling and screaming with no regard for others. I attempted to call the front desk multiple times, but there was no answer. After about 30 minutes, I open the door and yelled out if they can turn it down.. Unfortunately, another 30 minutes passed with no change. I tried calling the front desk again, as well as the emergency line, which shockingly went straight to voicemail. Around 3:00 AM, I approached the unit again, and the situation escalated. The individual became aggressive and attempted to provoke a confrontation. This only made things worse, as the noise continued even louder afterward until 5A. At that point, I felt completely helpless not only unable to get any rest, but also genuinely concerned for the safety of my wife and children. While the property itself has potential, the lack of responsive staff and proper security during a situation like this is unacceptable. I would strongly recommend considering other resorts, especially if safety and support during emergencies are important to you."

"Breakfast was great - lots of variety. Staff was friendly. The room was comfortable but the shower was a bit of a challenge. Scalding hot or too cool but a minor inconvenience. Close to town to enjoy a variety of restaurants and bars but far enough away for quiet evenings."

"The stay was a highlight of COSTA RICA travel. This property gives you a chance to enjoy the combination of a wonderful hotel stay (with breakfast included) and hot springs. Take time and enjoy hot springs in combination with cold water swimming pools. You can spend 2-3 hours in the evening, and same time in the morning just after your breakfast. "
