En route to South of France

Fabulous 2 night stay, lovely room with small balcony, great soundproofing & fabulous food in the restaurant day two. Didn’t make a reservation in advance day one & sadly full, but great recommendation in the village. Will definitely come back & remember to pre-book restaurant as enjoyed so much.

This has been a surprising find for our trip in Burgundy! The room is super comfy and clean, the staff are lovely, the breakfast is amazing, and the surrounding woodland is breathtaking. I’ll definitely come back again!

Well worth the drive

Unique hotel, a converted mill, located next to fast running stream. The rooms were small but up-to-date and modern. The staff were very friendly and welcoming. There is not a lot around the beautiful natural setting so one eats in house. The dining experience offered well prepared regional cuisine with three to four courses and an ample wine list. Well worth it.

Bien mais peut mieux faire

Les chambres sont insonorisées mais les bruits des clients de l'hôtel sont toutefois très présents. Problème d'humidité dans les chambres avec de la condensation sur l’intérieur des vitres, les serviettes de toilette avaient donc beaucoup de mal à sécher. Les chambres sont belles, agréables, avec un personnel très sympathique et avenant. Un petit bémol aussi sur le prix des petits déjeuners un peu chers à notre goût.

Bel endroit

Arrivée dans la nuit pour cet hôtel au bord de l'eau. Belle salle de restaurant. Nous y avons mangé très correctement, avec un service aimable. Les papiers peints des étages sont vieillots et mériteraient un raffraichissement, surtout point de vue style. Endroit agréable au bord d'une rivière, mais sensibles au bruit prévoir des boules quies, on a l'impression qu'il pleut toute la nuit ! Des randonnées doivent être possibles dans cette jolie vallée du Cousin. Nous étions justes de passage, dommage !

Etablissement en cours de relance après rachat et rénovations profondes depuis deux ans, il reste bien entendu encore pas mal de choses à faire pour être très bien, mais le site est superbe, le service est très bien, encore quelques petites choses à améliorer. La cuisine est excellente et les prix sont modérés. A recommander.

Great restaurant. Rooms need upgrade

Stayed one night with my new baby in a superior room. The hotel is very picturesque on a small stream on the edge of the woods. The styling is dated but has character. Our superior room however did lack some basic features. No fridge or water on arrival. Only a handheld shower and a fan to keep cool. The restaurant outside was excellent. Great setting. Fantastic food. And lovely service.

Acceuil très sympathique. Chambre tres grande donnant sur la rivière et le moulin, très calme et reposant. Nous avons dîné sur place très bonne table cependant il y a eu un couacq,il s'agissait de la 1ere grande soirée après le deconfinement et nous avons du attendre 1h entre l'entrée et le plat, le chef nous avait oubliés. Bon ils se sont rattrapés lors de l'addition et nous avons eu un geste commercial.

Hôtel ayant perdu son charme et son accueil

Nous avions l’habitude d’aller passer des week end depuis plusieurs années dans cet hôtel, et pensions recevoir un accueil personnalisé avec des chambres proches et ayant vue sur la rivière (tout l'interêt de cet établissement) mais cette fois ci est une mauvaise expérience. Au lieu de cela Nous nous sommes retrouvés à 4 avec 2 chambres (au début distante d’un étage) puis relégués sous les pentes de toit, non insonorisées, une salle de bain avec baignoire sous pente, inaccessible debout, et sans rideau, ni pare douche. Un client du dessous est venu nous réprimander à 20h (pour ne pas marcher dans la chambre pourvue de moquette ancienne, car cela résonnait dans sa chambre !) De plus le ménage du dernier étage (nos chambres) étaient faites à 4h de l’après midi... Quant petit déjeuner, rien à voir avec avant. Il est déplorable avec une seule personne qui tient a la fois la réception et s’occupe des petits déjeuners (service et réapprovisionnement des plats). Au niveau hygiène c’est limite ! Quant à l’accueil, il est inexistant tant à l’arrivée, qu’au petit déjeuner dont la salle est devenue quelconque, Non chaleureuse avec des tables non débarrassées et une deco qui manque de goût en rapport à ce que nous avions connu. Un nouveau propriétaire est semble t il, totalement inexistant, qui ne se préoccupe visiblement ni de la fidélité de ses hôtes, ni de leur confort. On est livrés à soi même ! Ne vaut plus ses 3*....Dommage Nous n’y retournerons plus.

The place is in the most beautiful of settings, has fabulous staff and were it not for the pretty aged state of some of the amenities, our group would give it 100% the thumbs up... A lot of love has been put into many aspects and it'll just require that notch of TLC in the bathrooms for instance, which do not have showers.

Hôtel très agréable dans la magnifique vallée du Cousin. Nous avons séjourné dans une chambre double supérieure dont la surface est correcte sans plus.Bonne literie, et belle décoration, Petit déjeuner très bien surtout si vous le prenez au bord de la rivière. Wi-Fi et 4G.

Décevant...

Mon ami et moi avions choisi ce joli hôtel très bien noté pour séjourner un week end à Avallon et découvrir cette jolie région. Nous nous attendions à quelque chose d’exception au vu des notes sur le site. Nous avons été déçus notamment par :1. L’accueil par un monsieur désagréable, pas de bonjour, qui nous a mené à notre chambre limite en courant. Globalement nous avons toujours été aller chercher le personnel dans la cuisine quand nous avions une question. Autre fait désagréable quant à l’accueil : le dimanche matin il n’est pas très délicat d’entendre des 8h les discussions très privées dites très fortes devant les clients. Et la 2ème déception : la chambre. Sous les combles, une chaleur de bête a l'intérieur, avec des poutres très basses, notamment dans la douche ou je me suis cognée plusieurs fois. Nous n’avons pas souhaité dîné à l’hotel vu l’accueil froid. Dommage car énormément de potentiel et un hôtel très beau.
