"Excellent location. Very walkable area. Clean & well maintained hotel."

"This was a first stay at this Fairfield in about five years. It remains a pretty good low-cost place to stay for a night or two. The breakfast isn't quite as good as we remembered it, and the $10 per day they now charge for parking was off putting. Beyond that, the biggest downside to this location are the frequent freight train horn blasts throughout the night they can nothing about but nevertheless impact the quality of sleep."

"The building is incredible, and a great place to stay in the city - quiet, comfortable, and very close to everything downtown. Staff were warm and friendly, the facilities were very clean, the bed was comfortable. They have a deal worked out with a lovely cafe a couple blocks away so you can get a discount on meals and drinks there. The only walkable groceries are convenience stores/bodegas, but I expected that in a city. Would highly recommend, and I'll be back anytime I need to come through...

The only minor downside was the shower design. I’m not a huge fan of the partial glass shower door (or lack of a full door), but that seems to be a common trend in newer hotels these days. "Very beautiful place. My complaint would be that there was hair everywhere from the previous person or the staff and we couldn’t use the bathtub shown in the picture because there was a tone of shoe prints as if someone was walking around in it. Other than that staff was kind and the welcoming. "

"I come to Sacramento quite a bit for work and while there are plenty of hotels in the depths of downtown and along the Sacramento waterfront there are not a whole lot of options near the Capital and other state agency building. The Sterling is AWESOME for an affordable boutique stay in a very walkable and lovely part of town where accommodations are limited. I plan on making this my regular spot to stay when I'm in Sacramento."

"This hotel lives up to the Marriott name. The staff has very helpful and kind. I enjoyed having a kitchenette in my room so I could cook my own food. I took one star off for cleanliness because I found a hair in the shower that wasn’t mind. Otherwise, everything seems to be very cleaned and well maintained."
