"We stayed at Visitation during our son and DIL marriage in the Frederick courthouse- afterwards we reserved dinner at Wye Oak Tavern. The environment, presentation and superior taste of food made for a memorable evening. They treated us with a glass of complimentary champagne to celebrate our night and we never felt rushed to leave that evening. It was a special night and our stay at hotel was superb - rooms were immaculate and comfortable- hotel grounds were lovely to relax."

"Fine hotel. A little old and worn but clean and fully functional for all our needs. Bed was really great and water pressure was superb too."

"Found 3 cockroaches in the room ! I have stayed at the red horse a number of times when visiting Frederick MD. But this time I woke up to find 3 cockroaches in the bathroom. The place is getting a little run down. The drapes had holes in them and the bathroom tile had cracks. The low flow shower and faucet aren't to good. The air conditioning works really good."

"One of the worst stays I booked in my life, and the worst facility with false promises and provided room and amenities. They give smoked room even though we asked for non smoking since we had 4 kids to stay, overall terrible and not recommended for families and non-smoking people."

"The parking lot was littered with trash. The noise in the parking lot was loud in the middle of the night. The shower in the room partially operated with half the water coming out of the spicket and half out the shower head."

"My wife and I stayed for a night to attend a wedding. The room and the property were very nice. Everything was clean and well maintained. I was worried that the 3 pm check-in would make us late to the ceremony, but the front desk staff were friendly and efficient. Check-in took less than 5 minutes! The lobby had decent coffee even in the afternoon. I’ll definitely stay here again when in town."

"Free breakfast was horrendous and not many options. Our room had a sour moldy smell and bathroom was not as clean as it should have been. I complained to the front desk rep and I was told they did not have maids on duty but they would spray something in the room. Whatever it was made smell somewhat tolerable. One night stay but never again."

"This was one of the worst experiences I’ve had. Walking into the hotel it smelled terrible. Upon checking in I was told the elevator wasn’t working. This was a big inconvenience since I was traveling with children and we had to carry all of our bags up. The room smelled like cat pee. I had to find a Walmart to purchase cleaning supplies. All the lamps didn’t work and it was only one outlet in the room .I would not recommend stay at this location!!!!!"

"This property was unique as it had a winery right on property with so many activities such as, line dancing. The food and drinks were excellent. The house was impeccable and beautifully decorated. The property is large and beautifully kept. You can tell this is a special property for the owners. Also, the staff was friendly and very attentive , I highly recommend this B&B whether it’s for a romantic getaway or any type of an event."
