We have made hotels and resorts out of them. Sand & Sandals Desaru Resort & Spa breaks all records for mediocrity. When we arrived we wanted to take advantage of the pool bar to drink and eat something. It felt like we didn't exist and the bartender was vulgar in his words. The bar was super dirty, the blender for making juices was sitting on the counter in the heat without being cleaned, the whole bar was very dirty. When we asked for a snack we had to wait a very long time.
This Resort operates with a minimum of staff. When staff work on one side, the other places are closed and vice versa.
It was a long weekend and the Resort took advantage of it to charge high prices without providing the service that goes with the high price.
The day before we had reserved the Resort's pseudo Japanese restaurant for four people for 8 p.m. When we arrived there was no room. We took the opportunity to order a bottle and have an aperitif while waiting. Rather than coming to pick us up on the terrace when the places were free, they put people back. After a while, we expressed our displeasure, they laughed in our faces. Finally, we had a late dinner and the quality of the meal was not up to par.
As for the spa, there was only one person there to welcome you. The worst part, when this person gave you a massage, they wore gloves. Never seen. This Resort is a tourist factory. The objective of this Resort is profitability with little means to offer customers. This place is absolutely not recommen
