Communication with Skykes Cottages was very process heavy tho - we received so many useless emails before the booking, then during the trip there was so many different people to talk to for every problem. "Really enjoyed our stay. Beautiful rooms, very friendly staff, ideal location in the town, tasty breakfast. Courtyard is a great addition for an al fresco drink in the summer. Room was a little warm at night, but a fan was provided. An excellent boutique hotel, we will be back!"

"Room very clean, staff very helpful as we had our mums wake there. Lovely lady on the front desk, and a lovely lad in the bar and restaurant named Jaydon I think. Breakfast very good, lots of choices. Surrounding gardens and area lovely walks and Leeds castle very special. Only thing is letting it down is the carpets are very dirty going up to the rooms, the changing rooms near the swimming pool, really in need of an update, part of the ceiling looks like its coming down over the pool area, they need a swimsuit spinner too, to bring it up to 20th century, I feel that the whole building just needs a lot of TLC"

"The property is outstanding. Absolutely outstanding. This has got to be one of my all time fav hotels. And the spa was the cherry on top. I stayed in a manor luxe room - beautiful! The staff are busy, so don’t expect anything quick. Shambolic is a good way to explain the staffing! The lady behind the bar needs customer service training. Her huffing and puffing was not appreciated when ordering drinks. Above all, even with the shambolic faulty tower style staff I loved my stay!"

The staff had offered to help them but they had declined. Would have helped to have written information about meal times, local transport especially train service, contact numbers and places of local interest"
