I've been to several dozen Baymonts and never had a bad experience... until today. Arrived at 6:45pm. Check in started at 3:00pm. The room was not ready as they had only cleaned about half of the rooms at that point. So dozens of people showing up in the late evening were waiting for their rooms to be cleaned.
After a 15-minute wait, our room was ready. As soon as we walked in we saw the mini-fridge door was open and the seal ripped loose. After waiting for the front desk clerk to finish a phone call, she came to our room herself and pushed the seal back in so the door could at least be propped shut. Later we discovered that the TV remote didn't work. We figured out the manual buttons, which was good because by that time there were five or six people waiting in line to either check in or complain about how much the place sucked.
The water pressure is terrible and lukewarm is as hot as it gets. The bed wasn't great but it wasn't terrible. Normally there are lamps on either side of the bed, plus at least one more on a table or in the corner. Our room had a grand total of one lamp so the whole room was pretty dark. At least if it wasn't clean, we couldn't tell. The chair was also broken, as was the sink.
There were few positives but I have to give credit to the lady at the front desk, as I'm pretty sure she was the only person working in the whole building, covering the desk, maintenance, cleaning and everything. And she managed to remain pleasant and do her best.
