Great Anniversary Weekend

My husband and I stayed for our Anniversary weekend. John and his wife went out of their way to make it special for us. Our room was fantastic, the multicourse breakfasts were delicious and the grounds were lovely. We would highly recommend this B&B to anyone looking for a special weekend getaway.

32nd Anniversary Stay

Awesome place with beautiful grounds and accommodations. John and Jitka were wonderful hosts. The room was great with many amenities. Our one knock is the room would not cool off, but that could be because it was in the high 90's all weekend. Breakfast was incredible every morning with bottomless coffee. John's cooking was delicious.

Beautiful and relaxing

We just got back from 2 nights at Dove Nest, perfectly located between St. Joes downtown district and the wineries (6 miles to each) allowing us to bike through vineyards for the day. The Inn was amazing - much roomier than I expected, extremely clean and private. We had our own area with a pond and small deck. Breakfast was delicious and hearty - held us over to mid-day. Home made jam over warm croissants, breakfast casserole, and home grown organic tomatoes. John and Yitka were the perfect hosts with great stories to tell and helpful in every way. Thumbs up.

Perfect Wedding Night Weekend

We had a lovely time at this charming, homey B&B and we would recommend this place for any honeymooners, couples celebrating their anniversary, football fans in town for a big game, or couples visiting wine country. John and Jitza were perfect hosts and whipped up delicious three course breakfasts each morning. Since we were newlyweds, they seated us at a private dining table in a private area which we appreciated. The grounds were beautiful and well maintained. We loved the koi pond and hammock, and we got a chuckle out of the pigeon house. The room was clean, the bed was big and comfy in the Garden Victoria Room, and the sheets were so soft. The bathroom was adequate and clean, but I would bring your own shampoos and lotions as the ones provided were too perfume-y for me. There was a little road noise which was surprising since it is kind of in the middle of nowhere, but we still slept fine. I loved that the B&B was neither Victorian nor too modern for our taste. It felt just right. We can't wait to come back someday!

Weekend getaway

We were so pleased to be able to stay in the beautiful room overlooking the pond at short notice. Their top notch mattresses provide the best night sleep we've had in years! John and Jitka are a wonderful hostess team, providing a beautiful venue for peace and rejuvenation. Accommodating, friendly, and provide delicious food! Thank you so much!!

Charming B&B in a Great Location

Great location in proximity to the vineyards and St. Joseph. Well-kept, clean, quiet. Owners were extremely friendly. The grounds were well-maintained and full of flowers. 3-course breakfast was fantastic! Highly recommend for a quick getaway.

Yummy Breakfast, beautiful home!

We stayed here as a central location for the wineries and water activities. Jitka and John were just lovely and breakfasts were outstanding, even dessert for breakfast! The grounds are just beautiful, the house is as well, and the bed was very comfortable. If you're looking for a B&B in the St. Joseph area we highly recommend the Dove Nest, amply named because John has doves and pigeons on sight!

We're ready to go back!!

Our experience with Doves Nest was wonderful! Jitka and John were superb hosts and made sure we were as comfortable as we could be. Although there were several other guests occupying their beautiful B&B, we felt...and thought...we were alone. Solitude and peace during our entire two night stay. The bonus was the cookies and pastries left for us each day when we arrived back from our day trips! We will definitely return as our travels take us to Michigan frequently!

Nice Bed and Breakfast in a quiet location

The room was very comfortable and quiet. The breakfasts were very good and plentiful. The hosts Jitka and John were very accommodating. The host John had some very interesting stories, I personally could have listened all day.The grounds of their home was beautiful. Would highly recommend this place! Very romantic getaway.

A Beautiful Bed and Breakfast

I stayed at Dove Nest B&B for one night last week. I stayed in the Garden Victoria Room. It was very comfy and very clean. The property is gorgeous. I planned to spend more time at the beach, but just wanted to sit by the pond, and on the deck overlooking the pond. It was so peaceful and relaxing. John and Jitka are incredibly nice. I really enjoyed talking to both of them. I definitely recommend Dove Nest B&B. I hope to stay there again sometime soon.

Great Escape

Hospitality was top-notch, the place was warm and welcoming, and the grounds had beautiful landscaping. Very quiet and peaceful, the breakfast food served was fantastic, and especially enjoyed morning breakfast when served outside on the back deck. The hosts were very kind and provided great conversation and advice or recommendations for things to do in the area. It is about 10 minutes from downtown St. Joseph so it's not too far from the beach and shopping but far enough away to provide a peaceful place to retreat to day or night. Great experience and would highly recommend.

Great place for any couple or small family!

Everything was great! The room was super clean and comfortable and the breakfast was top notch. The grounds were very soothing and relaxing and isolated without being too far from town. I highly recommend this B&B

A Peaceful Retreat

A great little hide-away with a peaceful setting! We stayed 3 nights in the Royal Oak Room that has a balcony overlooking the beautifully landscaped yard. It was very roomy and decorated very nicely along with a extra large jacuzzi tub in the on suite bathroom. Breakfast was 3 courses and handmade with fresh and different each day! The owners, Jitka & John are friendly,helpful and knowledgeable. There are many things to do in the area but it is nice to have a peaceful place to come back to at the end of a busy day.

The Perfect Weekend Getaway!

Our hosts, Jitka and John, were everything you could hope for when getting away for a weekend. Friendly, informative, knowledgeable and gracious. We chose the Blue Sky room on the first level and found it to be very clean and cozy, just as we hoped! The grounds are so well kept, filled with impressive flowers, trees, birds and other touches that added to the relaxing atmosphere created by our hosts. My wife and I spent time simply relaxing outside on the porch with a glass of wine and new friends. The beautiful weather was also a plus! We walked the downtown St. Joseph area, which was only minutes away, having dinner and site seeing. The breakfasts at the inn were delicious and served with thoughtfulness. If possible, have John provide you with a tour of the grounds for an understanding of the history and pride reflected in their serene surroundings. We look forward to returning soon and will be highly recommending this B&B to friends and family!

A nice getaway with my husband!

Very clean room! We liked having the mini fridge (stocked with water and Coke) and the balcony. The landscape and gardens are beautiful and well kept. We enjoyed that it was located close to town and wineries, yet in the country and more quiet. The breakfast was delicious and we enjoyed the stories shared by the owners. We prefer eating alone to avoid the awkward small talk among other guests, but there was a separate small table that we should have taken advantage of. Overall a great stay and we would definitely return but next time for a longer stay!

Perfect Place to Stay MI Wine Country

This is a great place to stay when visiting the Southwestern MI winery's, This is in about the center of all the wineries in this area. Rural Location and difficult to find at night, be there before sundown. John is a Great Host and very interesting to talk to. Many interesting features on the grounds and a superb breakfast.

Super Stars in St.Joe!

My wife and I were given a 4 day stay , for our 50th wedding anniversary. What a great choice! This place is awesome! We arrived Monday afternoon and met Jitka,our charming host. She showed us to our room(Blue Sky),which was really cozy and charming. Each day on a small plate there was a treat to share.The grounds are just beautiful with flowers and plants also benches to take in the beauty. But the breakfast was the star!! Each morning something different,each morning delicious. We will definitely come here again .John & Jitka definitely know how to please

Wonderful weekend getaway

My husband and I stayed the weekend at Doves Nest for sweetest day; it was our first time staying at a bed and breakfast and we loved it! The owners are very friendly, welcoming, and helpful. And the best part was the delicious breakfast. I would definitely recommend Dove's Nest for a relaxing getaway.
