"Unfortunately, this was one of the least enjoyable hotel stays we’ve had. The room appeared old, poorly maintained, and not very clean. The pillowcases looked worn and stained, the carpet felt dirty, and several of the bed linens were torn.
The bathroom was especially disappointing. The shower had visible rust, and the water never became more than lukewarm. Sleep was also difficult because the blackout curtains did not properly cover the window, allowing bright outdoor lights to shine into the room throughout the entire night.
There were also several signs of poor attention to detail, such as a coffee maker being provided without the coffee pot. Overall, the room felt neglected and in need of a thorough deep cleaning and maintenance update. I would not choose to stay here again unless significant improvements were made."
"We stop here at least once a yr in our travels. This year it was not a great experience. The room smelled of dog pee and carpet was stained in all major walkways. The room was very humid maybe because right next to the pool area. The breakfast was typical except the waffle machine was broke and didn't show time so waffles ended up burnt. We went to restaurant next to property for breakfast."
"Our stay was truly remarkable. The kind of visit that wraps you in comfort and feels just like home. The house was beautifully clean, and learning about its history added such depth to our time there. This house is a true gem and adds to Muscatine’s rich heritage, making the experience even more memorable. Breakfast was fantastic, with freshly made fruit salad and a sausage frittata prepared with such love by Karl, along with Mary’s wonderful homemade breakfast breads that made the morning feel extra special. We made such lovely memories, and my daughter was absolutely enchanted by the loft. A stay we will treasure."
"Very nice! Staff was very friendly & helpful. Room was spacious & comfortable & we always like the roomy bathrooms. Breakfast areas was better than many hotels. First floor was under renovation, but never disturbed us. When we travel we usually look for a Hampton Inn & this one was just what we needed."
