"I love this hotel and have stayed there three times now. Close to Durham for a lovely walk around. We stayed in the actual castle at the top, which was lovely, but there were so many stairs. We also stayed in the stables, which is where I prefer. Super food and the breakfasts are fabulous. We just like to stay for a while and are about to book again. Great place 👌"

"The staff were excellent and very friendly. The rooms etc were very well maintained. The main lift was out of service meaning a long walk to an alternative, but this only mattered when carrying luggage. Breakfast was a standard buffet, little limited with its selection but more than adequate. My only major complaint was the room didn’t have any air conditioning or air circulation. It was incredibly hot and the windows only opened a few inches. They brought us fans but they simply couldn’t cool the room. I asked to be moved to a cooler room but they could only offer it for 2 nights out of our remaining 3. Which wasn’t worth the hassle of packing and unpacking."

I was getting ready and couldn’t get my clasp on, so I came downstairs and she assisted me to do my bracelet, let me borrow a pen to write my friend’s card and she was so kind and was so friendly that she really made an impression on me. I work as a personal shopper, but I have worked in hotels previously. She is an absolute asset to your team."
