"This hotel smelt very bad and is in poor condition, the tap in the room wasn't fixed to the sink so rattled around, twisted when you turned on and off The window net had black mould spots. Towels come with free stains and are frayed after too many years in service. In all it may have been a great place 30 years ago but not so much now. Be aware there is no lift that we are aware of."
"The hotel is very well situated for exploring the full area of the Shetland Islands.
The rooms are spacious and comfortable.
There is plenty of parking space and there is a fuel station next door and a very good fish and chip shop across the road, both of which are very useful."
"The location was excellent, for walking, and if walking is too much, the taxi service is excellent. The breakfast here is lovely, definitely would stay here again!"
"Older property but with distinct charm. It is well maintained and clean. Good breakfast and good onsite dining. Extremely friendly, helpful, and efficient staff."
"The whole experience was wonderful.
Great hosts, really nice room and view and perfectly positioned for town.
Breakfasts were a triumph and hospitality from Ryan was second to none.
We really enjoyed our stay here and it made Shetland a really enjoyable experience for us."
"We were on a 3-week tour of Highlands & Islands. Owners Andrea and Paul were stupendous hosts! So kind and helpful! Food, especially dinner, was first class! We learned much about the history and where to visit. Irving, the waiter, was charming. We strongly recommend."
