"I honestly don’t have a complaint about anything. The entire property is kept VERY CLEAN, the location is great to Governor’s Beach, and the staff is polite and helpful.
If I HAD to give one criticism, I was disappointed that Governor’s Village did not honor their word when they stated they would give me a complimentary early check-in. I made arrangements ahead of time for an early check-in, and I paid in advance for it as well. I emailed Governor’s Village in advance and explained that I would be staying at their property for my 50th birthday. I asked them if I could have a complimentary free early check-in if possible as a birthday “freebie”. I told them if they could do that, then awesome! However, if not, no problem! I’m not the type of person that feels something like that is “owed” to me. It was explained to me that if the early check-in was available, the fee that I paid would be credited back to me.
The fee was never credited back to me. Again, I’m not mad. Just disappointed. Governor’s Village clearly told me they would grant a complimentary early check-in for my milestone birthday, but no follow through. I’m a big believer in someone following through with their word. If a person or business states they are going to do something, then do it.
I do not want the money credited to me now. If you credit it to me now, it is just because I mentioned it in this review and you want to look favorable to people reading this review.
Keep the money."
The Westin Grand Cayman Seven Mile Beach Resort & Spa
6/10 Okay
"I’m comparing it to the Palm Heights and the Ritz Carlton, so it may not be fair. It was a louder place with loud people. Bands playing in the lobby at night. Bar filled with people. Lots of families.
Not my usual stay so I wasn’t impressed."
The Reef Beach Resort - All Inclusive - East End, Grand Cayman
10/10 Excellent
"We stayed here for a week in the 2 bedroom condo with our teenagers, we all loved this place! The food was amazing and the staff was super amazing. After a day, they get to know you and converse with you, remember your orders, etc. It is very quiet there. The rooms are clean and beds are comfortable!
The only things we did not like:
There is only one bar and it is not close to the big pool. They also do not have servers around the pool so you have to walk back and forth and the frozen drinks are halfway melted before you’re back and ice in the cups are melted.
The big pool needs to be cleaned more thoroughly and frequently (still nice and used it everyday, don’t get me wrong).
The resort next door has a built up of seaweed or something up around the beach and the smell was rough.. so we just stayed at the bigger pool further away from it.. They were working on getting it cleaned up though.
Regardless of the 3 downfalls, we will be back in the Spring!!"
"This was the second time I stayed here. The only negative thing I could say at all is that there is not enough beach space (chairs) to just sit, however, my family was visiting Grand Cayman for the snorkeling, not the sun bathing. We patiently waited for a chair to place our towels and belongings on, while swimming in the sea, we were happy."
"We had to catch an early flight. The front desk offered to give us a wakeup call and call us a taxi for 0615. We got neither. We couldn't get a taxi so early on Sunday morning. Imagine our frustration. The manager of a nonaffiliated restaurant, The Bonfire, gave us a lift. Imagine our graditude."
"The resort is nice for the value. We had to have our room changed twice because the first room smelled horrible and the second room didn't give us the view the first room gave us. The third room was miserable!!! We got the nice view.. but the ac didn't work. My husband has a medical condition that the ac not working definitely didn't help!! The fan buzzed the entire time and literally only pushed hot air around. Since we were there a limited time it didn't make sense to change rooms again. The restaurant was a little pricey, the beach I wouldn't get in and the activities weren't available. This wouldn't be a first choice hotel for me in the future. The staff wasn't very accommodating and that made the frustrations heightened."
"Cobalt Resort was exceptional. My room and the view directly in front of the water which was perfect. Also, the staff was prompt and very helpful, being able to contact them via direct message was much appreciated. I needed to recharge and this stay helped me accomplish that and then some. Also the food in the onsite restaurant Nova was incredible."
"They are building a wall to prevent beach erosion so the beach outside the hotel is inaccessible and you have to walk quite a distance to get beach stuff"
