"This is a lovely hotel, with excellent helpful and caring staff.
The newer Elizabethian addition to the hotel is modern and good quality.
The food is excellent with well sized portions which tempt you into another course.
Parking is good but possibly difficult if the hotel is busy.
We chose to have breakfast in Lincoln as its only 15 minutes away."

"1st room we were allocated was noisy because of extractor fans on the mezzanine roof just below our window and air trapped in the radiator. Allocated a 2nd room, which was much better, but some noise from the extractor fans still audible.
Breakfast service ok, although a number of items not available because they had run out of stock.
Dinner in the restaurant not a good experience. Extremely slow service (nearly an hour between starter and main course) and poor communication from the staff regarding delay. Portion size of fish main course extremely small for the money paid"

"The breakfast was fresh and good standard. Sausages were nice and a level above the usual catering tat you usually get at hotels.
Staff were good and pleasant.
The actual booking and stay was a SHAMBLES. The hotel had OVERBOOKED THEMSELVES.
I had booked a room with a queen bed and the room was given to another customer before I got there. That’s completely wrong and disgusting. Also it’s very incompetent of a hotel to overbook themselves.
I am not comfortable in a single bed, which is what I was given. I would think twice about staying here again after the utter mess up of this. I only booked a night and a large, comfortable bed and I didn’t have a comfortable night at all.
The Holiday Inn would be where I’d choose to stay another time. "
