"Hotel Nordic is an hotel in Norderstedt, a town just outside Hamburg. My twin en-suite bedroom, which I was able to use as a single room, was fairly basic, but it was more than adequate. The room had a tv, and there was access to the hotel's WiFi. The Continental-style buffet breakfast was excellent with a selection of hot and cold food and drinks. It was reasonably priced at 10 Euros. The staff were very helpful. When I needed more liquid hand washing soap, and also help to get the TV to work, the staff attended to these matters swiftly. Parking for those with cars was adequate.
There are plenty of shops, including PENNY MARKT, and some cafes nearby.
Transport facilities are good, with modern local buses. The Hochbahn, a sort of Metro train service , which could take passengers to the airport or Hamburg city centre and its harbour, was about 15 minutes walk away from the hotel. A 5 day tourist card for travel on ferries, buses, Hochbahn and S-Bahn trains cost me the equivalent of about £47.50 in zones A and B (adequate for seeing a large part of Hamburg)."
"Das Personal ist freundlich, das Hotel ist sauber und es gibt kostenlose Parkplätze direkt gegenüber (zumindest während unseres Aufenthalts).
Wenn man zu spät zum Frühstücken kommt, muss man eventuell auf einen Tisch warten. Das Hotel informiert auch darüber, wann das Restaurant normalerweise voll ist.
Wir sind zufrieden und empfehlen es weiter (Familie mit 2 Kinder)."
"Uncomfortable beds, room was vaguely clean but still lots of cobwebs.
Front desk tried to get me to pay for the room again even though it had been paid for through Expedia. This happened several times despite Expedia calling the front desk - eventually it was sorted, but it took a lot of my time chasing it. To be clear, the Expedia support was very good - it was the hotel that was the problem.
Breakfast is poor (for the price).
I would not stay here again."
