"No complaints w the room other than we were not aware we’d be down in a basement room that looked out to a stairwell. Also be aware, if you ask for the shuttle to the train, and their shuttle isn’t available… you won’t pay the reasonable 10 Francs… you’re riding a taxi that will charge much more 😡 (even though the hotel tells you otherwise)"

"Sehr sehr freundlich und familiär! Sauber und solide! Wir kommen gern zurück!"

"Wonderful stay in Varzo! Lovely mother and daughter hosts. Delicious homemade breakfast and very comfortable room with a nice view. Right down the hill from San Domenico ski area with excellent scenic hiking. Would recommend Chalet Il Picchio to all!"

"We had a wonderful stay. The wine tasting was very enjoyable. Hospitality was great."

"Staying at Villa Chiovenda was a truly unique experience in a truly fantastic place. It is a perfectly renovated villa, with a beautiful garden, hosted by the most welcoming and warm hosts and owners. The area is somewhat remote, but a another beautiful glimpse of a corner of Italy"
