Great location. Helpful and friendly staff. Rooms are comfortable and have good amenities (iron, hairdryer, shampoo, hand lotion etc) and are really nicely laid out to separate the sleeping area and to try to keep you away from possible noise from the corridor as well. Decent cold breakfast and drinks/snacks can be purchased onsite too which is really convenient.

Excellent Experience

We had an excellent experience at Aloft. Hotel was clean, rooms are large, and check-in/check-out process was very easy. In a very nice part of the city. Would definitely recommend.

The rooms are spacious, especially for Europe, and well-designed, with a large flat screen TV, wide desk, fridge, and a big window that opens. It’s close to the EU campus. Sightseeing requires a 30-minute walk to the city center or taking nearby public transportation. Only two minor complaints. At check-in, we requested daily cleaning but did not get it the first morning. After that, we requested in person at the front desk each morning to ensure the room was cleaned. The other problem: the rain shower is great but we had to run the water for 5 minutes until the temperature stopped fluctuating between extreme hot and cold. This was while the tap handle remained in place. Seems like a strange plumbing problem for a newish facility. But all-in-all, a pleasant stay, a recommended place.

Energy saving the wrong way...

The second evening there was no hot water until the morning, so it was not possible to take the shower! Temperature regulation in the room was not working, since it was -5 oC outside the room was rather cold. The rest was OK, personel is freindly.

Details brought the experience down

I’m giving good grades due to location, clean/new/large spaces, free games like pool and fusbal and the friendliness of the reception. The hotel is part of the Marriott/W Group and some of the details were disappointing. The shower in the room had a very sensitive temperature control that never seemed to get it right. The breakfast costs extra and the layout looks decent, but the bread was mostly stale and probably at least a day old. They had a steam egg set up that creates a mess I couldn’t enjoy and I was patronised by the kitchen help when I made a logical suggestion about where certain things were places (having to go back and forth trying to find something is frustrating). I can imagine the mess there when it is busy. I wouldn’t suggest paying for the breakfast.
