"The building doesn’t look like it has had any money spent on it since the 1980’s.Very shabby hotel, shame on the owners, it could be fab. Had holes in sheets and towels. No duvet it’s a 1950’s style blanket between sheets. Not hygienic these days. Dirt and dust everywhere. Cushions with stains on. One pillow each. Dining chairs in the breakfast room all broken. "I cannot say enough about this hotel...it is one of my best memories of Florence. From the beautiful garden/terrace to the wonderful staff it was amazing. Location is a bit out of the busy touristy area but close enough to walk to see many things. We loved to join fellow guests in the garden for wine in the evening or good coffee in the morning ( self serve coffee 24 hours which I loved as we are early risers). "Fabulous! If I could give them ten stars I would. Our room was beautiful and immaculate; so comfortable I wanted to move in and live there. Breakfast was amazing; a feast for the eyes as well as the palatte. What really stood out was the staff. Every person from the front desk to housekeeping was friendly, kind, and helpful in every way. "Great hotel, well placed for sightseeing in Florence. We had a suite which was lovely. Breakfast was well presented and had a wide range of items. Staff were very attentive. There was a roof top bar, frequented by non resident patrons, you had to book to use it, even though notice said you did not. "

"While the staff were very friendly and helpful, and the location was amazing, getting into the hotel reception and then to our room, was quite arduous. There are about 25 steps up a smelly staircase before getting to an old tiny elevator of sorts, that takes you to the next floor and reception. Then we had to climb an additional 25 plus stairs to our room. The staff did help with that. The room is very dated, the bedspread and thin and the threadbare blanket under it have done their time. ...
