"The hotel is a “one of a kind”. Located in the historic part of Quito in a former large colonial home. The ornamental paintings on all the walls create an indoor garden atmosphere. There is no elevator, so ask for a room on a lower floor if you have mobility challenges or think the high altitude might make...

"Loved the location just 1 block off the main square. The room was huge and comfortable with lots of electric outlets. The security guard was helpful, made us feel very secure, and watched out for the guests. Even helped us confirm that the Uber driver was who he said he was as the license plate did not match the app. Breakfast was good and the hours were long. "Great location-just 1 block north of Plaza Grande (as hotels.com says but contrary to what Google maps say as of today: and you'll need to tell cabs/ubers/...). My room was quite quiet despite of being right downtown. The people running the hotel are very friendly and helpful. I'd certainly stay at Casa Colonial again."
