"A sign of the times I suppose, no biscuits in the room, receptionist or manageress, totally unwelcomeing, didn't seem to want to be there. Last negative, my wife likes her bacon well done, but the breakfast had cremated bacon. Otherwise: situated close to Lincoln, other members of staff were really nice. Having visited a number of times, the food is American diner style. On the whole, we wouldn' go back unless things changed for the better or the price undercut everywhere else."

"Outdated bathroom with signs of corrosion, silicone should be changed too… Food in the restaurant was nothing special. GREAT GYM ! One of the best hotel gyms I’ve been to. Well done on that! "

"The hotel is looking very tired. We had a standard double room, all that was left when we booked. Perhaps other rooms are better. Our room was small, hot and very dimly lit. A heavy curtain had to be kept closed as we got up as there were no nets and we were overlooked from the car park, and the dim lighting made it difficult to get organised. While clean, the bathroom had peeling paint and loose shower controls. Furniture had chipped paint. The bed was comfortable and the breakfasts were superb. The location in the Cathedral Quarter is excellent. "

"This is my second stay at the muthu, my room this time was tired and old fashioned with bad marks on the carpet and a bath side which had def seen better days. There was a problem with the water during my stay and although my room wasnt affected , the pool area was, so there were no pool toilets or showers, so people were coming straight out of the sweaty sauna and straight into the pool. I called to the bar just for some crisps and was pretty much ignored by the girl serving snd left me standing there while she did something else behind the bar which was a bit rude, see to your customers first! I had afternoon tea which sadly wasnt fantastic, the sandwiches had obviously been made the day before and were dried up, wasnt even worth the groupon price. Having said all this, i just wanted to have a night away on my own and rested at the side of the pool. The hotel could do with some updates in certain areas but was ok for a one night stay. "

"The hotel was perfect for our stay. It was easy to access and peaceful in some lovely grounds. The room was clean and very comfortable. We didn’t use the bar or restaurant as we were attending a funeral in the area. The breakfast was lovely ; there was a great select of juices, cereal, fresh croissants and a nice selection on the menu for a cooked breakfast as well. Would recommend and use again ."

"Lovely hotel, beautifully decorated. Attentive and polite staff. We had dinner in their Antlers restaurant twice and it was first class but not cheap. Central location beside the cathedral. Secure car parking. "
