"Excellent location. A 1 minute walk to the lake and it’s beautiful views, a 1-2 minute walk walk to shops and cafes, and a 5 min walk to the centre of the old town such as the Chapel Bridge.
My room was great as I’d upgraded to a junior suite, which lived up to its name. My friends in standard rooms found them a bit small but adequate and had no complaints. The rooms look like they’ve been recently refurbished, so that was good. Bear in mind this is a local hotel rather than a multi-national so comes with some local character and is not a faceless corporate template room - this a good thing when staying in Lucerne, making it more memorable.
The reception team were 100% brilliant. Warm and welcoming on arrival, pleasantly chatty when we were waiting for the rest of our group in reception area, and they went above and beyond for a couple of requests we had. Truly exceptional people.
The hotel has a nice breakfast restaurant. There is no bar, but honestly you should be exploring the various local cafes, bars and restaurants within a street or two.
My only niggle was that the water ran cold one morning, but I had already noticed other people mentioned this in their reviews and had found it runs hot again if you let the tap run for a few minutes. So I’d recommend you accept this as a feature of a local hotel with older pipework and don’t fret - just let the tap run for a few mins while you brew a coffee and all will be fine.
Really enjoyed our stay and would recommend. Thanks."
